Nestled between towering fig trees and vibrant floodplains, Khwai River Lodge offers an unrivaled vantage point to witness the magnificent big game of Moremi Game Reserve. This unique location provides guests with a front-row seat to the drama of the wild, making it a must-visit destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.

The lodge features inviting tented rooms, each equipped with panoramic private decks, designed as the perfect theatre from which to enjoy the wild spectacle. These indulgent tented rooms are built specifically for game spotting, allowing guests to spy wildebeest, zebra, and elephants right from their elevated deck or even while lounging in a hammock. Inside, each room boasts a netted four-poster bed, elegant bathroom, air conditioning, and minibar, all providing welcome refreshment after a day spent exploring the savannah.

For those seeking a more secluded experience, the private suite is an ideal choice. Offering a heated splash pool, it serves as a sublime spot to watch a breathtaking African sunset.

Khwai River Lodge is not just about luxury and wildlife; it's also deeply committed to conservation. In partnership with Wild Entrust Africa, the lodge is actively working to mitigate the lethal conflict between predators and people in Northern Botswana. Their initiative includes ground-breaking scent-mark research that keeps predators away from livestock and safely inside protected wildlife areas. Guests at the lodge also have the unique opportunity to visit the Wild Dog Research camp and learn about the invaluable conservation work from a Botswana Predator Conservation Programme researcher.

Established in 1971 by Harry Selby, Khwai River Lodge holds a special place in Botswana’s history. It was one of the first lodges to promote safaris with a conservation ethos. Its close proximity to the Delta floodplains led Selby to build the ‘bridge over the river Khwai’, which today serves as the famous North Gate entrance into the Reserve.

The gastronomic experience at the lodge is equally unforgettable. Whether under indigo African skies or in the covered dining area, guests can partake in a buffet of African specialities accompanied by a local choir at Mothupi’s Boma. Private deck dining is also available upon request.

After a thrilling day's safari, guests can unwind with the lodge’s signature Africa potato manicure right on their private deck, under the endlessly spreading untamed sky.

With its perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and conservation, Khwai River Lodge is indeed a jewel in the wild, offering an experience that is as unforgettable as it is unique.
